Windows Phone 8 will be a big release from Redmond Giant and will be opening a new world of capabilities. With the power of Windows and taste of Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 8 will be a trending hit in the market. Announcement of Windows Phone 8 is recently announced in Windows Phone Summit. Windows Phone 8 features are:

  • Multi-core processor support: Yet all Windows Phone are running on single core processors but to incorporate Windows power into Windows Phone hardware makers are building multi-cores support for Windows Phone 8. Windows Phone 8 will have support of multiple cores and so the hardware will be seen in multi-core face.
  • Bigger, sharper screens: Flexible new start screen with high-definition 720p displays supporting two new resolutions- 1280×768 and 1280×720. Windows Phone 8 will have new palette of theme colors and three sizes of Live Tiles.

  • More flexible storage: Along-with Inbuilt internal storage this time Windows Phone 8 will support removable MicroSD cards so as to give you more storage space for your extra photos, music, and videos.
  • NFC wireless sharing: NFC – Near Field Communication will be integrated into Windows Phone 8 by which you can easily share things over short distances with other NFC-equipped devices.
  • Internet Explorer 10: For safe, secure and better advanced web browsing IE10 engine will be used for Windows Phone 8.
  • Wallet: Now you can keep important info of your debit and credit cards, coupons and boarding passes kind of things at your fingertips and whenever you want you can pay for things with a tap at compatible checkout counters.
  • Better maps and directions: Use Nokia maps of many countries with turn-by-turn directions and more importantly it will be available offline so that you can work with maps without a data connection.
  • Cooler apps and games: Windows Phone 7 is already having a huge collection of millions of app in its Marketplace and the same will be seen for Windows Phone 8. Cool apps and games will be for Windows Phone 8 based on the Windows Core.

All this Windows Phone 8 features gives current users an excitement of something blasting coming soon for them. Windows Phone 8 is almost ready and will be seen in market in month of October.

Current users of Windows Phone 7 will not be able to upgrade to Windows Phone 8 but they can upgrade to the next releasing version which will be Windows Phone 7.8. Windows Phone 7.8 will be released in July which will bring the Start Screen design of Windows Phone 8 to current Windows Phone.
