How to Enable Touch Mode in Office 2013

Office 2013 is released and is readily available for download on MSDN/TechNet. Even one can download 60 day trial of Office 2013 with full functionality. Today we will learn How to Enable Touch Mode Office 2013. As we all know that Windows 8 is for PC/Tablet/Touch-Devices and so we want use Office 2013 in Touch Mode. Follow the simple steps and learn how to turn your Office into Touch Mode:

1. Open any application in which you want to Turn on the Touch Mode viz. Word 2013, Excel 2013, Lync 2013.

2. Move to QAT (Quick Access Toolbar) and click on the QAT overflow and select the Touch Mode icon. See the screenshot:

3. Now the icon for Touch Mode will show up in the QAT from where one can easily toggle the Touch Mode on or Off. One can switch to Touch or Mouse mode if its a PC cum Tablet device. If you are using Office 2013 on a Touch Device then Touch Mode is automatically on for your convenience.

In Mouse Mode Standard Ribbon and Commands are optimized for use with Mouse whereas in Touch Mode space between the commands is more which makes the touch experience more fluid. In Touch Mode size of Ribbon Tabs, QAT automatically increases and as well the space around small buttons in ribbon increases the height of status bar. Here is a screenshot which clears about the difference between the UI of Word 2013 when the Touch Mode is On and Off:
