Microsoft sold 40 million licenses of Windows 8

One month ago on October 26th Windows 8 was made available for public. Now it’s great to hear that 40 million licenses are sold till today. Windows 8 is most advanced operating system of the world and is ready to run on a PC as well on a tablet. Concept of apps is introduced in Windows 8 and for that Microsoft made a separate store – “Windows Store” for same. Like for Windows Phone we can find apps for it in the Windows Store.

Windows 8 40 million licenses sold

Tami Reller, VP, CFO & CMO of Microsoft Corporation told about the sale of Windows 8 crossing mark of 40 million at Credit Suisse 2012 Annual Technology Conference.

The journey is just beginning, but I am pleased to announce today that we have sold 40 million Windows 8 licenses so far.

One can buy Windows 8 from Microsoft Store or from retailer and even can upgrade their existing Windows Version. She also said Windows 8 is outpacing Windows 7 in terms of upgrades. So it’s better to go for it if you are using Windows 7 as the same hardware is perfect for the upgrade. Microsoft even released their own tablet Surface featuring Windows 8 RT.
